A Few Lines from Hannah

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of spending a week in Italy. I stayed in the NW with some good friend of ours Andrea and Marta and their 3 boys. I was able to practice my Italian, and eat a lot of good food! It was so fun to experience Italian culture for a week. While there, I was able to see the boys play in small football match, see lots of beautiful countryside, visit another Italian family, and go for a day trip to the nearby big city Torino. Here are a few pictures from that day:

We visited Valentino Park, a very large park with beautiful gardens, a medieval castle and a big playground. We all rode on a 'rischio' translated as rickshaw.

I really enjoyed my stay in Italy, I had so much fun and learned a lot of Italian too! Thank you Andrea, Marta and boys for your kindness and hospitality toward me. I really enjoyed staying with you!

Soon after I arrived home, it was my 14th birthday! I had a great day with friends and family.

Mariah and Joel have gotten really good on their roller-blades. On my birthday, they put on a little show for us all.

A sweet friend came over and helped decorate my birthday cupcakes. They were really yummy!

Sadly, after my birthday, it was time for our friend Olivia to leave. For those of you didn’t know, Olivia stayed with us for 2 months, and helped us out. We really enjoyed having her with us, she was such a blessing. We miss you lots Olivia!

Before Olivia left, we made a goal to finish this puzzle that we started last Sept. 2 days before she left, we did! Good job guys!

In fact, they were so excited, they went ahead and did another on Olivia's last day! This one was only 200 pieces though. Still, good job!

Well, that’s about it for now. We have 1 1/2 more weeks of school until Easter holiday. Our Aunt Carol is coming, and we will be heading off Wales for a week for a much-needed break. I’m sure there will be a picture-heavy post following!

Bonus photo! Isn't this so cute?! I'm loving their grins!

Bonus photo! I couldn’t resist this one. Aren’t they so cute!?
