School’s Out!

Yesterday was our day to celebrate officially finishing the 2011-2012 school year!  We have all worked hard without taking many breaks since mid-August and we are finished!  Peter took the kids to a nearby swimming pool where they have waterslides and they all had a  blast.  Then after a McDonalds lunch, he took them to play football in the church gym.  In the evening I made a special dinner and then afterwards we had a presentation of certificates.  We praise God for the freedom we have to homeschool our children and the blessing of getting to spend so much time together as a family.  Here are a few more photos we took of the Meadling scholars (in a jovial mood!) . . .

We had to get one with the future Meadling scholar included . . . 🙂

And here are a few more of our now 4-month old sweetie pie . . .(home education starts young!)

Teething perhaps? 🙂  She seems to want to put as many fingers as possible into her mouth!

And here are a few more photos from the past few weeks . . .

Joel drew this of a Manchester United football player, Hernandez (I thought the sounding out was pretty good for a 5 year old!)

Tiger Joely and his lego tower truck

We were invited to a school celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Here are Mariah and Joel standing for the hat competition (sun was too bright for Joel to look up!)

We so enjoyed our visit to the amazing rhododendron gardens nearby during the amazing warm weather we had (I emphasize HAD as it's now well and truly gone!)

I think one of the older girls took this beautiful shot

The kids and I were so blessed by a visit from my friend Laura and her daughter Esther while Peter was in Hungary. Here's Esther with the Meadlings at our favorite place, Bowood.

This sight made me smile so much. Hannah had propped Kaylah on her side/tummy and she rolled over. There was great exclaiming in the house and then they all gathered to see if she'd do it again!

The next 3 weeks before we leave for the USA will be full.  Peter and Ron continue to mentor the Cor Deo guys as the 2012 season comes to a close.  Peter will also be teaching all day on Saturday at Pillars (training programme for UK church leaders).  Pray for hungry hearts and much fruit.  I am busy doing lots of admin to wrap up this homeschool year and plan next year.  Please pray for wisdom and clear and creative thinking.  We also need to clean the house thoroughly, organize and start packing for our trip and not forget quite a few important details!  (what were they again?!)  Pray for joy and peace as we persevere with these tasks and that we would be prepared for our home ministry in the States.  I (Melanie) probably won’t post again until we have arrived there.  Thank you for your prayers and encouragement to our family.
