Quick Catch-Up

Sorry for no posts in a couple of weeks.  Here’s a quick catch-up.  We really enjoyed having Melanie’s parents with us for ten days.  They left on Tuesday, after we had spent the weekend together at the OM UK team weekend away.  It was good to catch up with some OM folks and I enjoyed preaching from Hebrews (stirring my passion to get back into that book again, its a perennial favourite of mine).  Cor Deo is marching on, with the weeks starting to slip away.  This morning I met with Ron for our weekly “faculty” meeting as we look ahead to the next two weeks.  Right now I have an hour to pack for a quick trip to Hungary.  I say quick, but I’ll be there until Wednesday.  I’m going as part of the leadership of Pillars to engage in some meetings with representatives of the various Brethren-connected organisations in the UK.

We value your prayers for us, especially when I am away and Melanie is on her own with the children for a few days.  Incidentally, I was able to take the children, plus a good friend from church and his son, to the Fleet Air Arm museum yesterday as we celebrated Ron’s birthday that was earlier this week.  Ron certainly knows a thing or three about military aircraft.  Joel was impressed to see the kind of helicopter that Prince William flies (his current hero)!
