Aliyah’s Birthday

Melanie —  February 9, 2011

Well, we’ve just started birthday season for the girls and I thought I’d better post these photos before the next birthday girl has a turn to celebrate.

I can't believe Aliyah is 8 years old!

The day before Aliyah's birthday, we went to Puxton Park (near Weston super mare) and met up with some friends from our old homeschool club. The children had a great time together.

Here they all are at the top of one of the "death slides" in the playbarn.

And in the ball pit at the bottom of the slide . . .

We braved the cold and wind for a little while and explored outside on the farm. Joel loved the tractors. The other kids played football with the dads.

The next day we had Grandma and Grandpa Mead over for a family party. Here we are playing one of Aliyah's favourite games, Phase Ten.

Hannah decorated the table with a musical theme (thanks, Aunt Carol for the decorations!)

Happy Birthday to our sweet, sweet daughter, Aliyah. She is such a blessing from the Lord. She has a caring, diligent and helpful disposition and we are excited to see what the Lord does in her life.

Joel enjoyed his cake!

And here's some silly after-dinner faces!

Several relatives went together to give Aliyah a brand-new bike. The weather was awful on her birthday so she had to just sit on it in the house.

But the Lord gave us a beautiful day on Tuesday so we all went out for a ride. (see my last post)

Snowdrops! Spring is on its way!

As I wrote in my last post, we found our way to the big park in town.

Joel, driving the jeep in the park. He told me to hop on and we decided we'd drive to Antarctica.

Hannah, just hangin' around

In other news . . . our mummy rabbit Dandy, had her babies last night.  The girls are thrilled!  We haven’t figured out how many babies are in the nest yet.  We’re trying to be careful not to touch them or aggravate the mother.    I have managed to get through the day with what little sleep I had last night.  I am hopeful for a better night tonight.
