Beginnings

Happy New Year! I guess its a good time for the overhaul on our website. We’ve just written updated bios for the children – they should be up soon. We should have photos up soon too so keep checking. On New Years’ Eve, we did a slide show of all our family photos from 2007. It was really fun to remember all the events of the year and to see how everyone had changed. Obviously Joel had changed the most but Aliyah was a close second. She’s really grown up this year! This week we have started school again. The girls were actually eager to start up – me too! Daddy took them on a field trip yesterday into the centre of London to see the sights (from the warmth of the car!) while I had a bit of a break. That was wonderful! I’ve started a new book about educational philosophy (For the Children’s Sake by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay) which is incredible so far. The kids and I have started reading a wonderful new book for school, The Children’s Book Of Virtues, by William Bennett. Hannah has started writing in a diary. I’ve started reading through the Bible again. The start of a new year can be a bit of a downer after the excitement of Christmas but this year, I’m finding it quite exciting to think about what God will do in and through us in 2008. We have started praying a special prayer for this year: that God will use us to motivate people to “go” as missionaries. We have a great desire to encourage others to respond to the Great Commission. Will you pray with us?
