A Solid Sunday

Yesterday was a solid Sunday.  I left fairly early to get to the breaking of bread service in Guildford, which was a blessing.  Then I preached in the second service there.  They are in a series in Exodus, so I got to preach Exodus 18 (Moses’ advice from his father-in-law).  Then I drove home (enjoying hearing my football team pressing on to a good season finish – it’s hard to concentrate on listening to other things when they’re playing!)  Had a couple of hours at home before heading out to drive up to Peckham.  Peckham is in London and it took over an hour to wind my way up through the city.  Used the car time for a few phone calls, then arrived and figured out where to park.  I agreed to speak at Rye Lane Baptist Chapel as the Logos Hope line-up team needed a speaker.  It was a blessing to be able to help them out, and to meet the good folks there at the church.  I finally got home about 9:30pm.  It’s a blessing to preach the Word and one I never want to take for granted.  Now I have a clear week to press on in some writing and planning for the future.
